Brad Carr is the Principal and Founder of Preparing Futures, and a founding Co-Chair of Australian Digital Trust, a local Australian division of the OpenID Foundation. He is also on the Advisory Board of the University of Melbourne’s Institute for the Future of Business.
Brad served as Chief Innovation Officer at National Australia Bank (NAB), developing FinTech partnerships and incubating innovations across data and AI, sustainability and ClimateTech, digital identity and combatting scams, and digital assets. He also previously led Governance of the bank’s Digital and Data businesses, and he is also currently advising NAB on a risk project.
Previously, Brad was Managing Director of Digital Finance at the Institute of International Finance (IIF) in Washington DC. Brad led the IIF’s advocacy on Basel III and a global review of banks’ credit risk modelling practices, preceded by his 15 years in banking across credit, capital and portfolio management and managing client relationships.
Brad’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Western Australia, Masters in Science & Technology Commercialisation from the University of Adelaide, Certificate in Futurist studies from the University of Houston, and he is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
