Ron Schop

Ron Schop is passionate about technology and especially enjoys breaking down complex technical information into straightforward stories. He re-joined DUG as an Executive Vice-President in August 2024.

After starting his working life in journalism and marketing, Ron completed a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from Curtin University of Technology – to add to his Bachelor of Arts – and joined Fugro as a geophysicist.

Technical roles for Schlumberger and Ion GXT followed, before taking up the position of Business Development Manager for Downunder Geosolutions (DUG) in Asia. Success in this role prompted a recall to Perth headquarters where he oversaw the company’s global bid strategy – with a strong focus on providing high quality technical backgrounds to clients.

Ron joined HiSeis, a seismic services company specializing in the mining industry, as General Manager of Business Development in 2020. He transitioned to the role of CEO in 2022 before returning to DUG.
